I remember watching this play out, because I wanted to buy a house near the beach and couldn’t afford one. But my salary kept slowly increasing and house prices kept falling and eventually the two met and I bought my first house in 1994… pretty much at the bottom or within a few months of it anyway. Just plain dumb luck that it worked out that way.
