I love it when people who oppose a single-payer solution throw out rationing as a reason. What the heck do you call it when 50M people have no health insurance? Sure they can go to the emergency room and declare bankruptcy after they can’t pay the bill (well, they used to be able to do that before the 2005 bankruptcy reform bill), but they certainly can’t get cancer treatment, cardiac operations, etc…
We are all doomed. I am keeping the Mexico thing in mind, that is sounding like a better and better idea.
