Yeah, we got them in San Diego , pirates , bullies, extortionists, control freaks, nimbys and politicians who respond to some nimbys more than others. Did I mention Dianne Jacobs?( I think I owe her another rant).I have a lot of stories about these folks and their actions. If I were not afraid of them getting CPS involved, I’d declare my property and architectural free zone and tell them all to piss off . A lot of BS comes from the state level too and is enforced by the local planning and and code compliance.
Here is an example of one of the first cases I witnessed after moving to Jamul. I met a 55ish couple at the local sandwich shop who were on their way to find a campground because the county would not let them live in their brand new fully self-contained RV on their own 5 acres. The only way they could live there was to put something on a permanent foundation that met building codes. They had a bunch of fines and threats of more. I think the county would eventually impound the RV. This is on rural land with no ccr’s, no HOA and almost zero reliable services from the county in return for our good behavior and adherence to an aesthetic coming from a few locals higher up in the pecking order and third parties who need our dollars to be channeled their way.
Now they are trying to outlaw steel cargo containers for storage… on FARMLAND!I Think I am supposed to be glad because these “estate” minded people are driving up the property values. Stupid vain people.
