I had my doubts about the pole too. I must have checked five times to ensure she wanted it.
But it’s been there a few yrs now and most of the women who have visited have tried it…it is almost a universal curiosity among women, it seems. And at home it is a safe environment where they can feel comfortable. Even last night we were talking about it at a club and a woman within earshot said she’d like to come over to give it a try. Universal!
As for the electronics, I really love music and get frustrated by the sound quality of most sound systems in public places…seems everybody skimps on the speakers which is where they should be putting a bigger percentage of their dough. The big screen probably gets used the least as it is basically backup, in case we both want to watch different shows (rare) – it is the second TV in the house.
The guitars aren’t so much faux memorabilia (have no desire to have signed guitars) as much as art. I don’t play, but love the shape of guitars. They are quite sensuous, really. And they relate to one of the main focuses of the room – a music listening environment.
And should we ever decide to sell (not likely), I can turn it back into a regular bedroom in about a half day.
Walter, I started making a home gym a few years ago then sold it all. Found it much easier to use the wide variety of machines at the gym and, besides, at home I get distracted with phone, TV, kids, computer, etc. If I’m at the gym, I have to focus on exercising the whole time. Your man patch does sound interesting though!
