I appreciate all the help. We have come to the realization that getting fire insurance in these areas will be very tough, but not impossible and of course costly. We will just have to make sure to factor these expenses (and hastle) into the cost of ownership for canyon areas. Otherwise we will have to greatly limit our search parameters.
