I agree with you. I feel that even if we reduce pay and benefits by 20% we should have no problem attracting new recruits. After all firefighting is a glamour job for many. But of course, it is almost impossible to reduce pay and benefits because of the Democrats pandering to the public employee unions. One thing you can start doing is buy on Amazon to avoid paying tax. I rather pay shipping cost than paying tax to California. I feel that they have taken too much out of my pay check already. 90% of my purchases are on Amazon right now.
