I’ll save you time to read it all, it was mostly done for law enforcement agencies to determine how to minimize the impact of false alarms, which are a complete waste of resources. Here are the highlights of the 26 pages:

99% of alarm activations are false

0.08% of alarm activations result in an arrest

6% of all law enforcement calls are for false alarms.

This wasn’t in the report, alarms don’t bite.

In most areas of our lives, technology makes it better, in this case, technology is no match for the century old home protection recipe of a dog and a shotgun.
