Gandalf, your posts are quite a dichotomy, at least to me.
First paragraph, I would concur with it’s context.
Second paragraph, 1- I agree, 2 – somewhat disagree, probably due to our differing opinion of the “policy”.
Third paragraph, first seems to contradict the previous. I would disagree that it’s diminished our “leverage” with the Saudis. I will concede we have given away much advantage from the action. It’s not a distraction at all, far from it. If anything it’s distracted AQ.
Fourth paragraph, “reducing our footprint” the issue with that was how he planned on going about it, he has altered his earlier asap stance, to a more calculated one. Regardless it should be done in a manner that allows a “power transfer balance” (I hate using the word balance it really has no place in this context or many others)meaning as the Iraqis can successfully replace their American counterparts. Otherwise, most of our efforts were wasted. Also, to publicly state a time table is just plain Stupid. I agree with the rest of the paragraph
Fifth paragraph, No, we don’t. It’s a waste of time and is a distraction. There will be no peace until the other Arab nations actually support it.
The palestinians are mostly, pawns of other interests in the area. Their “leadership” has and continues to sell them out.
Sixth paragraph, Valerie Plame wasn’t a field operative at the time she was “outed” and hadn’t been for a while. As it stands I am all for Richard Armitage(?) being charged, the “investigation” and it’s resulting trials were a farce. Off topic, there IS an interesting connection with her husband, William Jefferson, and Niger going back to a previous administration.
Seventh paragraph, I agree mostly about the freak show as long as your comment isn’t limited to those who dare question Obama . The flag pin itself is somewhat moot, his initial comments were more of the issue.
Eight paragraph, Partisan politics divide us. The majority of politicians vote right along party lines. Put Obama in the front of the line on that one. My opinion is most of our elected officials have turned their backs on their constituents who voted them in and vote party politics.
The Patriotism issue is somewhat muddled, it’s mostly against the Democrats as their own words are being used against them…Murtha, Durbin, Kennedy, Reid etc.
LOL, No, I don’t think Obama is a Muslim. For verification, ask his pastor of twenty years. I don’t see jfiq as slime for his comments, unless I missed something I’ve seen worse written here by others (lol, maybe it depends on whose side you’re on), it’s alledgedly a basic right in AMERICA.
Ninth paragraph, I agree, and not just because I am bored to death with myself at this point.
