gandalf: The main reason I brought up the Israelis and the Palestinians and the failed Oslo accords was to point up that, even with the best attempts to broker a lasting peace, we still wind up with the same mess and the same level of animus against us.
How do the Iranian people get the news? That’s a serious question by the way. Do they rely on al-Jazeera? The internet? Do they have access to Western news sources, including BBC and European and American feeds, or does the Iranian government censor this? I ask because this also drives the equation. We could be making the best and most sincere efforts in the world to achieve peace and, based on their internal reportage, it could be spun as the Great Satan attempting to destroy Palestine through some infernal trick.
