gandalf: I’m gonna have to go with you on this one. Back when I was in the Army, I received a Top Secret clearance. The FBI talked to my folks, my friends, and interviewed several members of the high school I attended. They were extremely thorough and I was a Lieutenant at the time (certainly no great shakes on the command ladder, if you know what I mean).
To think that Obama has gotten to this point in his career, especially as a sitting Senator on the Foreign Relations Committee (one of the committees that the FBI does background checks on the participants), strains credulity.
It would mean that the FBI, plus the media, plus every crackpot conspiracy theorist under the sun, completely MISSED the most obvious element in Obama’s life, and that is his status as a US citizen.
On the topic of serious times, there, dude, you respond to the banking crisis with “I’m concerned”. To say that you have a gift for understatement might be somewhat obvious.
