Your snark might be misdirected. Public sector employees would prefer a new agency with another 100 paper pushers. Or use the money to keep the current librarians fully employed. Or reduce the pension deficit.
City employees did not vote on this. It is a work product of city leaders who found a way to line pockets of their business buddies with another $160MM.
Blame entrepreneurial spirit, not public employees unions.
