The price of petrol is running a little over a euro and a half per liter across most of Europe. Diesel is less.
That’s a little under $7/gallon for Petrol and $6/gallon for diesel.
Greece is currently having a horrible time, last year fuel was a euro a liter, now it’s 1.69. Even now, that’s only about $7.60/gallon.
SO if by close, you mean only it only has to double … otherwise, just fictional wishing.
