Yes, I also thought they would try to intervene, and spent many solid days and weeks writing letters, faxing, calling, and even attending public hearings in order to stop it well before the SHTF. Win some, lose some…I (and many others like me) lost that battle.
I think their tactics are misguided and will end up costing far more over the long term. Unfortunately, too many people are more concerned about the short term, so we’ll have to deal with the consequences of their short-sightedness when the time comes.
