I have no Ivy league credentials. I will say that everyone I know with an Ivy League education is very successful and wouldnt trade their educatiopn or experience.
I am and always have been a bit rebelious to put it nicely. For me real estate is a lifestyle choice and I could be doing other things. I got tired of traveling and answering to others. I wanted complete independence and autonomy. RE provides me with that> I am certainly not in it for the money which isnt all the great.
I have always attended public schools and my children have too. I dont pay for my kids to be smart, I pay to provide them the best opportunity I possibly can. I sit with them every night and make sure they do their homework, read with them and teach them myself to supplement their education. They work hard and all I ask is that they do their best whatever that may be. I never criticize them for less than stellar work and celebrate their efforts with support and love. If they end up wanting to be alignment techs at Sears I will be happy for them if that is their passion. I will help them succeed at whatever they do to the best of my ability in front of any of my personal wants/needs whether that means paying for an education or helping them start their own alignment shop.
I am about as far from an elitist as can be. Whatever you decide to do with your life is fine by me as long as it is not illegal or hurtful to others. What I beleive in is my way and your are certainly entitled to your own way.
