Duke: I completely agree with you. I don’t support the actions of the current Administration and didn’t vote for Dubya either time.
As a Jesuit educated Catholic, I have more than enough skeletons in my closet, thank you very much. The same folks that run universities like Georgetown and Loyola gave us the Spanish Inquisition.
You mention dogma and correctly so. Anything that becomes overly dogmatic and doctrinaire automatically stifles that creative spark and seeks to silence or eliminate free speech and free thought.
My point was that spirituality is very different from religion and religiosity, and that spirituality and science can co-exist.
I have my own issues with evangelical Christianity, not the least of which is that, to me, the bible is a tool and not a weapon.
