Cops in CA have legal protection under the cloak of express and implied immunity for their actions. ALL of their (official) duties are presumably performed within the line of duty and thus they are legally “immune” from their actions. Absent a jury verdict to the contrary, CA cops will continue to get away with the way they operate. In the presence of a jury verdict for the plaintiff/victim, the offending cop(s) will be summarily slapped on the wrist and told by their Dept to shore up their “attitude” going forward … “or else.”
