We will also look in Temecula, but prefer the schools in the PUSD or even the San Dieguito district.

The house I linked to is as close as you can get to Fallbrook and still stay in PUSD, and it is in the city of San Diego. The commute to/from Del Sur would be 10-15 minutes longer.
Carlsbad would be worse, Hwy 78 is not commute-friendly in either direction during rush hour.
