How much of our best, most innovative ideas came from 9-5 worker bees who were stuck in dead-end cubicle jobs because they were afraid of losing their health insurance? Like it or not, having the freedom of movement, from one job or idea to another — including “independent” work — is one of the best things that could happen to our society. What we have now is poison to our minds and bodies.
CAR, I used to be one of the “cubicle dwellers” you’re referring to here. Life IS short. I’m SO GLAD I was able to qualify for my own HDHP several years ago. It has freed me from mediocrity and now I feel like I am treated like the professional that I am. And the “100%-covered” preventative care benefit is GREAT. That’s mostly all I ever used all those years anyway!
As a bureaucrat “cubicle dweller,” you can only be as “innovative” as those above you. Nothing else was allowed. At least that was my experience :=!
