Brian: Not nearly as entertaining as a second Obama term will be. While I agree that Newt is pretty much unelectable, he has a grasp of policy and government that dwarfs anything on the GOP AND the Democratic side. He is a gifted policy wonk and understands how government WORKS (in the same way that LBJ understood how government really worked). The last Dem Prez with that sort of gift was Clinton, who was another very gifted wonk.
Obama, on the other hand, understands the way that rhetoric works. We’re seeing his limitations on full display as he falls back on the same tired shit, after promising the exact opposite. Reinvigorating the same old “blame the GOP” meme (which is a riff on the “blame the Dubya” meme) solves nothing and proves how truly bereft he is as a leader.
