Brian: Quite true. As everyone knows, public transportation was started by Joe Stalin and Adolf Hitler. In point of fact, the Molotov – von Ribbentrop pact was actually more about establishing bus and trolley lines throughout Poland than creating an entente between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. Slightly less well known is the fact that Benito Mussolini moonlighted as a ticket taker on the Rome to Naples train lines and, if you pay close attention to pictures of Il Duce, you’ll notice a ticket puncher in his waistband.
