Yes, inflation in the things we need and deflation/stagnation in the things we don’t. That’s what I would like to see reversed.
BTW, not sure that furniture is that much cheaper, but admittedly haven’t shopped for any in quite a few years. If you compare like-quality pieces, are prices really down much at all compared to 1998? Also, cars seem to be about the same price. Not seeing nearly as much deflation as we’ve seen inflation, IMHO.
