There really is no skepticism on whether he was dead or not. At least none that I know about. The skepticism is whether he was dead already and this is a staged event. Many think, and for good reason, that he died of renal failure in 2002.
Personally, I think, if he was not dead already, they probably knew where he was and decided it was time to retired Emmanuel “Osama” Goldstein because he served no propaganda purpose any longer as well as a little present to Obama for being obedient.
Further reason to be skeptical is the spurious reasoning for an “at sea” burial. One that they disposed of the body within 12 hours.
