As a liberal, I find this post weird.
It has me:
-Agreeing with xboxboy
-Arguing that Donald Trump is both relevant and important
-Pointing out the intelligence of Fox News
-Pointing out how sneaky and conniving the Democrats can be
Ugh
Xboxboy is right that it is a big win for house Clinton.
The strength of Obama was not his leanings (liberal) or vision (big).
It was his discipline (in both message and in tone).
Note:
This has, at times, served him badly in that lots of people distrust how much he masks his true emotions.
Consider the absurdity that so many reactionary conservatives constantly question his honesty even though there have been no verifiable integrity issues raised of a professional (eg WMD’S) or personal (eg Lewinsky) nature.
Trump is highly relevant in that he really epitomizes the emotion and anger that Obama never is willing to show.
Fox news is brilliant in that is serves the mission of pointing out policy differences in a condescending way (same as MSNBC but better) that makes liberals seem dumb.
The Clintons are goddamn brilliant (and kinda evil) because they have turned this into an epic polemic of a dumb and angry conservative versus sober and intelligent liberal.
I think all would agree those associations don’t always go together. People like Howard Dean (reactionary and liberal) and Bill Krystol (intelligent and a rabid neo-con) really prove how muddy it gets.
When Jeb gets up to bat (which I think is inevitable) he will spend his time shoring up annoyed intelligent moderates who were thinking of voting Libertarian or (gasp) democrat instead of running a campaign. Hillary will already have the country discussing free college and public daycare and looking presidential while Jeb is trying to hire an education liaison.
I am honestly astounded by the evil brilliance.
Still not sure she will win.
She is not very likable.
