Do not pity Barack Obama and the Democratic Party. They will get what they deserve. They sold the citizens out for cash and power. They lied. They manipulated and deceived the public, from the bailouts to the abandonment of universal health care, to serve corporate interests.

The tea party movement is, as Nader points out, “a conviction revolt.” Most of the participants in the tea party rallies are not poor. They are small-business people and professionals. They feel that something is wrong. They see that the two parties are equally responsible for the subsidies and bailouts, the wars and the deficits. They know these parties must be replaced. The corporate state, whose interests are being championed by tea party leaders such as Palin and Dick Armey, is working hard to make sure the anger of the movement is directed toward government rather than corporations and Wall Street.

So finally, the truth gets out. I’ve been saying this ever since the Republicans took over the Tea Party.
BTW, I think the Democrats (who also serve our corporate masters) have aided and abetted the Republicans in manipulating the Tea Party supporters and turning their anger away from the bankers/financiers/elite. Did nobody else notice the suspicious timing of the introduction of the healthcare bill…right about when the Republicans took over the Tea Party and redirected their anger from being opposed to banker/borrower bailouts to opposing the “socialist” healthcare bill. Another perfect example of “divide and conquer.”
Interestingly enough, the healthcare bill ended up benefitting insurance companies, which just so happen to be part of the FIRE sector. Those of us who support universal healthcare are just as opposed to this healthcare debacle as any right-wing extremists.
The two-party system is the tool used by the elite to keep the masses divided and confused. It’s best if we ignore labels and flag-waving pomp and circumstance. Always, always follow the money. That is what every single worker in the U.S. needs to focus on.
Don’t even get me started on the growing drumbeat and masses chanting the words which are fed to them from their corporate masters: “Down with the unions!”
I hope people soon wake up and understand what’s really going on.
