AN, these properties on the west AND east sides of Nacion Ave are situated above I-805, which came roaring thru there in '84. These properties are now among the noisiest in SD County . . . absolutely, utterly deafening, due to being perched far above the fwy shoulder. The green strips you see on the map are NOT parkland, they are fwy embankment. This is a fatal flaw, IMO. Being inside this house will offer little relief, even if all windows are shut. And they better be double or triple-paned. This one doesn’t have them . . . hence the price.
However, there are much better homes which are better-located than this in this area for $170K to $300K. School attendance area is Greg Rogers Elem, Castle Park Middle and High. I know at least a dozen boomers that graduated from the then CP Jr/Sr High. I don’t think these schools are as good today as they were in the 60’s/70’s. CPHS is part of SDSU’s “Compact for Success” program (guaranteed admission), which began in 2000. I don’t know how many CP grads accepted into SDSU from this program have successfully graduated with a Bachelor’s degree.
