Allan, I agree. And honestly, that’s a concern of mine too. What voter A sees about candidate X may be wishful thinking.
Keep in mind, the process is comparative. Voter A doesn’t have to have complete information about candidate X, just enough to compare with candidate Y. So at this point, candidate X’s approach to energy and foreign policy are greatly preferable for Voter A’s tastes.
But you are exactly correct. Only time will tell. For all of our part, I hope he’s a reasonable success.
