[quote=aldante]By the way I have seen people call Dr. Paul an extremist but there is nothing more extreme in this debate then all of the other candidates supporting the NDAA. Dr. Paul is the only one who has a reasonable stance on that issue. If one believes in the Bill of Rights that is. I make the prior statement because I believe that one of the main characteristics which separates America from any other country now or through history is due process. NDAA basically makes the President a king who can take away that right at will. That is extremism to the nth degree.

Aldante: Superb and you couldn’t be more correct. I’ve seen other posters blather on about things like gay rights, while our CORE, ESSENTIAL civil liberties and rights are being destroyed. Nothing is more precious than individual liberty and yet, as a citizenry, here we sit idly watching as this happens.
As a former soldier, I find this appalling, especially given the stance of these supposed “conservatives”, who cite supporting NDAA under the guise of the “War on Terror”. Someone needs to remind them of Ben Franklin’s admonition of trading liberty for security and winding up with neither. Semper Fi, brother.
