Afx: The 500,000 number was from BigGubment, who unequivocally claimed that there were (WERE, not going to be created) 500,000 green jobs in California.
He further went on to state, using the number of Californians employed by Big Oil (approx 20,000 give or take), that green jobs outnumbered “dirty” Big Oil jobs by 25x.
Given that its fairly easy to substantiate a claim (a quick Google search reveals the numbers employed by Exxon, Chevron, BP, etc in California), I asked him and several other posters also asked him to provide the evidence to support his assertion.
Its been crickets since. Nothing, nada, zip. The point I wanted to make is that he’s either using completely fabricated/cut-from-whole-cloth information or non-credible sources for his “facts” (see “spontaneous rectal bleeding” on the Gulf seafood thread).
If someone wants to debate, fine. But, be honest about it and bring (correct) data.
