Afx: You’ll recall that I qualified that jobs statement with “rightly or wrongly”. People are going to focus on the overall, raw number of jobs created and not so much on what types of jobs they are. My wife’s family lives in Texas and, in spite of being staunch Republicans, are not huge fans of Perry’s.
Perception is the editor of reality. Obama, rightly or wrongly, is perceived as weak on the jobs question, as well as being a weak leader. He has a vulnerable flank and the GOP is going to do everything it can to expose this weakness. This is an extremely weak GOP field and for Obama to be as vulnerable as he is speaks volumes about the public perception of him as president.
