A relative of mine just bought a very nice newer home in Hawaii Kai and loves it. He paid about $1.2M for a 3000 sq ft tract home in a family friendly community. He’s lived in HI for about 15 years and knows the area well. He’s a very highly paid professional with very stable employment that is absolutely recession-proof.
I dont know what you are looking for but that seems to be a nice area similar to NOrth County Coastal SD. Another big factor was that it is a relatively easy commute into Honolulu as most of the population lives on the other side of Honolulu.
