1. Chinky: looks/feels very asianist (not in a positive way).
Example: “Damn, that house looks so chinky…” (plastic vinyl covers, redwood furniture, the works.)
FLU, I think the word you’re looking for here is “chintzy” which is actually has Hindi/Urdu roots and means “gaudily or cheaply decorated”. I am a bit of a racial/ethnic slur aficionado and I have never heard anyone say “chinky”.
BTW, if you enjoy a good uncomfortable ethnic slur as much as I do, make sure to see “Gran Torino”. My only regret is that I didn’t get see it in a left-wing politically correct enclave like San Francisco. I can only imagine the audible gasps at some of the dialogue. I’ll bet people actually walked out…
