fredo… ucgal is right. Now’s a good time to get/find a signed copy of your lease. Just tell the owner you’re updating your renters insurance and the insurance agent needs to see a copy of the lease. If the owner can’t find a copy, have a freshly printed copy ready for him to sign.
You can get blank lease docs from:
1. Realtors
2. Other Landlords
3. Lawyers
4. Legal websites like legalzoom.com
5. Quicken Legal
If the house gets foreclosed, you need the lease to prove your legal rights to the property.
