    My wife and I had a great experience with them. The realtor was knowledgeable, not pushy, and offered good advice. This was the second property we’ve bought.

    We went on a few home tours and the agents were prompt and very informative.

    The most interesting part about it was how rude/negative the sellers agent was to the Redfin people. He was annnoyed at the fact that we signed certain documents electronically instead of him having to drive around town pushing paper around. It was comical. We got about $7500 back as a credit towards closing costs.

    All in all, I would recommend them. I’m not sure if anyone on this site has used them before to buy or sell, but let me know if you have any questions.

    Which agent did you use? Was it Anna? Do you have a choice which agent to use?

    Did the agent provide anything other than giving you the normal paperwork to sign and giving it to the seller? My main concern would be that the field agents don’t give any advice and just basically open the doors for you, and the office agent that actually does the market comp analysis and helps you decide on how much to bid has never seen the house, and bases the suggested offer price solely on what MLS numbers say and does not take into account the condition of the house as noted during the home tour. Just seems like the agents don’t do anything at all other than forward PDF docs from you to the seller and back.

    Just curious…how many houses did you make an offer on before you finally settled on the house?

    Thanks for redfin review…I’d be curious to hear other Pigg’s experience with Redfin as well.

    Yes, I used Anna. You have a choice which lead agent to use, but the options are limited (2-3 I think).

    She provided us with more then just the normal paperwork. She provided suggestions on the offer price, home inspection items, etc…

    You’re correct about the field agents (the ones showing the homes) being different then your lead agent (transaction coordinator). The offer price is completely up to you. Anna never saw the house in person, so the only pricing advice she gave was relative to the comps.

    To some, this might not seem like a good thing. However, we’re educated buyers and have been watching the market for the last year. We offered 5% below asking price and went to contract with 4% below asking price. To be honest, it’s kind of refreshing to not have a realtor pushing you to offer more. It’s completely up to you..and we were able to do it…and it worked for us.

    We made one offer – this one. However, we probably looked at 15-20 houses in the last 6 months.

    All in all, it was a good experience. I’ve heard people say that models like redfin are dangerous if you’re an uneducated buyer – however if you’re an uneducated buyer or have no common sense, I think buying real estate through anyone would be dangerous (realtor or redfin).
