Hello, as I set up the new Hello, as I set up the new site, I was wondering whether people like having multiple forums or would rather just collapse it into one thing.
Another way to do it would just be to have a single forum. The preference might depend on how people use the forum(s):
– if you always just want to see what’s the latest happening among all forums, you would probably just want a single one
– but, if you want to stay on top of some topics, and ignore others, you might prefer multiple forums. (This does take more clicks to see what’s new, but you can also use the “active forum topics” at a quick glance — this will carry over to the new site)
I really don’t know how people use it so I thought I’d check.
PS – if “multiple forums” wins, I will still collapse the number of forums down as there are some very sparse ones that should be merged into bigger ones.

Hard for me to pick an Hard for me to pick an answer.
Me, I read all the forums so whether you keep’em separated or merge into one makes no difference to me.
But if there are other people who are interested in just one topic, then I’d rather keep’em separated for their benefit.

I’m not voting because it I’m not voting because it just doesn’t matter to me. I pretty much just watch the list of Active Forum Topics and read anything there that interests me.
If you do keep separate forums, I like Phaster’s suggestion of the three topic, Real Estate, Economics/Investing, OT.

IE right now if you go here there are multiple forums: http://piggington.com/forum
