I see it , I just don’t believe it. After all, I have known so many of these “normal” people for quite a long time. Even with the more recent normal people I see a lot of interesting stuff. Just wearing a flag pin isn’t going to fix it …..unless its one of these, of course!
Flag pin just says, I’ll agree that you’re normal, if you will do the same for me. It’s really kind of cowardly.

Ok fine. I’ll bore you with a longer answer.
If a politician does or doesn’t wear a flag pin doesn’t motivate my support or voting towards or against that politician. I can name dozens of far more important issues.
At the end of the day most flag pin wearing is probably an empty gesture. But again, I care much more about policy than posturing.

I was offered a job by a I was offered a job by a company that required the wearing of an American flag pin about a decade ago.
The deal fell through for other reasons, but I decided that if I accepted the position I would comply and wear the pin, but I would also wear the pin of every other country I could find. That would make my point pretty well.
This whole worshipping a symbol thing is so ludicrous.

ha! Maybe, except I got a sense that most of the managers hated being told to wear it also. It was just the folks at the very top who thought it was a good idea.
I do have a large contrarian streak in me though. If everyone is doing something, I have a strong urge to do the opposite.
