As part of my divorce, I As part of my divorce, I bought out my ex-wifes position of our home.
It worked out well for me as the apprasial was really really low (Nov 09)
I’m glad that I didn’t get a divorce back in 05 when the prices were sky-high.
Apprasal was down 38% from 2005.

Bought in Gaithersburg MD in Bought in Gaithersburg MD in June, posted the pics. Am now in the process of constructing my “Man Cave” in the basement. Remember basements? I can’t believe how much I missed them in SoCal. I can actually park my cars in the garage now!
You want to know what’s been a real bitch? USAA came through and inspected my property, and RAISED the assessed value! Instead of insuring it for the $775K I paid, they valued it @ $1.07 mil. Bastards increased my premium $400 a year. I might be wrong, but I’m willing to bet I couldn’t flip a 20% profit on my place in the past few months in this market.
