TuVuParticipant
I manage a family trust through a brokerage, because while I have learned a lot here and elsewhere, I am still relatively unsophisticated financially. The broker has been a big help. As of yesterday, all of the highest CD interest rates were from WaMu. Twelve-month CD for $100K was 4%. I asked him why WaMu was higher than everybody else and he told me bluntly (this is why he’ll be my broker for life, just like I have a hairdresser for life), “WaMu is in trouble and needs the cash.”

TuVuParticipantI own a GM car (of Euro design) and in the last month, I’ve gotten four automated voice mails from a local GM dealer begging me to come in to buy this or that car. I have an unlisted phone number, but the service department, I guess, readily shares the info with the car salespeople. By the way, I didn’t buy my car at that dealership. It’s annoying.
I don’t like my car. As soon as I drive it to death (like I have all my other cars), I’m going back to Toyota or, my favorite, Infiniti. My GM car is 6 years old and I give it, oh, maybe two more years of life. I drove the Japanese cars for 12 years and more.

TuVuParticipant
It was spray painted all over Overland Trail a week or two back.
Fortunately, Temecula attacks this kind of stuff quickly, usually the next day.
Aye. So Northern California is invading Southern California. As one guy who posts constantly on the UT news blogs always puts it, “Build the fence!”:o)
