Trojan4LifeParticipantGuys, take it easy. I’ve been on the receiving end of a divorce and while the judge didn’t grant alimony the child support I paid was deserved – by the kids. Men get emotionally attached to the $$$ in a divorce because we often derive our self worth through the size of our….salary (get your heads out of the gutter), but the truth of the matter is most men just start a whole new life while the women carry the baggage (kids) for a long time. Not saying it’s fair financially, but let’s be completely honest here…we are far better off after the divorce than the women are. This is coming from a guy who shelled out over $60K in child support (I got off easy as my income was low at the time). She never went in for a readjustment when I started making more, but my ex also worked.
Marion, what skillset do you have? What degree(s)? How are you marketing yourself and how open are you to working outside of your area of expertise?

Trojan4LifeParticipantOne would hardly think that someone boasting a 700+ FICO would be considered a sub-prime candidate, would they?
Are we entering a new age where, much like where million dollar homes are not really worth $1M, the new “millionaire” needs to have $10M, and #1 ranked national football powerhouses need to actually play the game in order to win…700+ FICO scores don’t give lenders as warm a fuzzy as previously?
Yes, I was at the game…at least the Bruin lost and the Chargers won…

Trojan4LifeParticipantCheck out this month’s Car and Driver magazine. There is a very interesting article on a gentleman in Illinois who was being told by either state or federal officials he had to register as a fuel distributor and pay taxes on the fuel he was using (bio diesel). Absolutely incredible the nerve of our government to ask us to cut our dependance on foreign oil and in the same breathe try to tax us for doing it!

Trojan4LifeParticipantI’ve always liked the Cayman
As a guy who just got rid of his 2004 Corvette for a Prius, I respected the Cayman’s capabilities and loved it’s exhaust note. But it’s stuck in bewteen the two big guns in the Porsche line up, the 911 and the Boxster, so I think if someone is going to step up from the Boxster it will be to the 911 as the price difference between the 911 and Cayman is not too steep.
FWIW, I bought the Prius not because of carpool lane access (missed the boat on that one) or to help the environment (nice side effect though). I bought it to keep my hard earned $$$$ out of Exxon’s coffers.
