Not an expert and haven’t been into that house, but based on the pictures, it does seem like a good deal. Birch Bluff is a nice street and the people in the immediate area seem neighborly. Great place for kids. The pool and clubhouse for that neighborhood is the nicest in S. Pomorado (rebuilt after the fires). It would be nice to get something tangible, like a great pool for homeowners fees.
Risk of wildfires is just part of living in Scripps Ranch/Stonebridge, or anywhere else along the 15.

strawberryfieldsParticipantFrom what I understand, there are less kids bussed into Scripps Ranch this year due to budget cuts.
I’d say that 90% of my kids classmates at their SR school are our neighbors. Seems like the majority of “others” are from Mira Mesa, Sorrento Valley, etc. Plenty of “choicing” but it’s generally kids from within our neighborhood.
As for the original question, I’d say that you probably couldn’t go wrong with either Sabre Springs or Scripps Ranch schools.

strawberryfieldsParticipantDo you really think it will sell for $500k in six months? I’d be really surprised to see it go for $750k in six months. I wish things would get back to 2000 levels quickly but there are too many buyers still willing to pay 2004 prices. In Scripps Ranch, there’s not much to choose from and plenty of buyers ready to go.
Some people have found relative deals over the last couple of months but $680k for that house sounds like a trustee sale.
