I have seen that graph updated on various blogs, but with the majority of the graph having shifted to the right to account for all the different loan mod programs instituted by the government. The net result being that instead of a 2011 timeframe it is now a 2012-2013 time frame.

speakerParticipantI go to Costco for almost everything because it is actually closer to where I live than either the grocery store OR Arco. The cash back on my Amex card is also another major influence on me going to Costco. Because I live so close to a Costco, I often get in and out for under $50. Many times I have gone just to get bagels. The time it takes to park, walk a mile into the back for the bagels, and return to my car takes a long, long time. In that respect that is the true cost. I can easily avoid the crowds.

speakerParticipantI concur. I have been living/commuting from Carlsbad to Torrey Pines for about 6 years now. We are looking to buy mainly in the Carlsbad area. Buying in North Carlsbad would add an extra 10 – 15 mins commuting time which I don’t know if I would be willing to put up with. However, I have ruled out any area that requires taking the 56. Over the years I have put together a system that helps me beat traffic going north on the 5 corridor. It may not be real, but it seems to me that there are fewer traffic alternatives traveling to points east on the 56 than traveling north on the 5 corridor.
