stockstradr,
I used to live in Bay Area and by far the food up north is way better than SD. If you have a chance, try Japanese noodle at a place called Santa Ramen. Small place that can sit about 20 people and always packed. http://www.yelp.com/biz/santa-ramen-san-mateo
For dim sum, try Koi Palace in Daly City, next to Outback. The place is packed with waiting time at least 1 hour and most expensive. Quality is great so you get top notch food. By far the best dim sum in CA.
If you like Vietnamese chicken noodle, try Turtle Tower in Tenderloin near by South of Market in SF. Bad area but great chicken noodle. http://www.yelp.com/biz/turtle-tower-restaurant-san-francisco#hrid:MSkRoM78yA-ovWFeSZhKqg/query:turtle%20tower
Korea food, try Brothers Restaurant in “Inner Richmond” of SF. Great food but you smell like BBQ after dinner.
http://www.yelp.com/biz/brothers-restaurant-san-francisco#hrid:eGxF5mV-EOvUhmA2T5inlA/query:brotherMan, can’t wait to head back to SF to pig out!

sfexporterParticipantFLU,
Where else can you get Taiwanese breakfast in SD besides Chin’s?
SD Chinese food are so-so at best. If you in LA areas, try Monterey Park/Alhambra.

I guess you have not been to AZ if you think CA drivers are the worst. I have lived in AZ the last 3 years before moved back to CA this year and can truly say AZ drivers are worse than CA. Here’s my take on AZ:
1. All vehicles (big rigs, truck, trailers) can go on the fast lane. No courtesy for faster vehicles to pass.
2. Over 50% of the vehicles are SUVs and big pickup trucks. Good luck trying to maneuver your car around these vehicles.
3. Large vehicles (SUVs & P/U trucks) flying on the highway like Indy racing against riceboy. Seen too many crashes and turnover on the freeway.
4. Cutting over 4 lanes to exist. These are usually the soccer moms in SUV having no clue or little regard for their kids safety by yakking on the phone and realize the last second they need to exit
5. Moms smoking in #4 and don’t care if there are kids on the backseat. Toss the cigarette out the window after use with no regard for others
6. Snowbird drivers flocking to AZ during the winter. Add this with #3 makes the commute in AZ much more fun!
7. Highways in AZ are full of rocks, pebbles, nails, screws and bolts. You feel like Speed Racer trying to avoid those objects. I had changed 4 windshield in 3 years and pulled over 10 screws, nails or bolts out of my tires. I replaced 8 tires in 3 years.
Too many to bitch about AZ but I am glad to be back in CA except for the stinking cost of living and housing!#$%^&*
