Does anyone have recommendations for schools in San Diego, private or public? I hope I’m not hijacking here, but I thought Louise might be interested in this type of feedback also.

sddreamingParticipantCarlsbadMtnBiker, I do recall now. I didn’t read it. Mayor Sanders stated this in one of the emergency press conferences last week. I’m pretty sure it was on Thursday. I’m looking for transcripts from those press conferences last week, but so far can’t find them.

sddreamingParticipantOkay dingo, I agree with #1. There will be a stimulus to the construction market this coming year. But I guess that’s as far as I agree.
The rent market is tight, however I already saw somewhere a restriction in rent rate increases. Rents are not supposed to be increased over the next 6 months to a rate higher than 30 days before the fire. Now I have to look and see where I saw that.
At this point I am thinking that sellers in the fire evacuation areas will be more likely to lower their selling prices. After all why would you hold on to property that is in a fire evacuation area?

sddreamingParticipantSo, Rus, are you still okay?

sddreamingParticipantI think people outside of San Diego will be less interested in relocating into San Diego. Also those in San Diego who were considering a relocation out of San Diego will probably be more likely to do so. I doubt these two sets are very significant though. I don’t think most San Diegans will be swayed by the fire. I think Rancho Bernardo and most of Poway will still be considered desireable, just like Scripps Ranch remained so after the Cedar fire.
