Companies who donate money to candidates love H1B visas.
End of the day, H1B visas don’t affect that many American workers, and they people they do affect can still find jobs. It’s not the same as a factory being shut down and workers in a city not being able to find anything close to as good.
If Trump does go after H1B visas it will be more theater than policy based. The people who elected him care a lot more about factory work and Mexican laborers than they do visiting Engineers and Computer Programmers.
poorgradstudentParticipant
OK, I’ll stick my neck out a little on election eve. Trump takes AZ, NV, FL and NC. And UT, if that state is still “in play.” I’m still studying the other tossup states plus the ones Trump is trying to “steal” from the Dems. Hopefully …. more later today.
Comments??
He’ll win those states and lose the Presidency.

Lol… I guess Catholic priests molesting little boys get a free pass to heaven as long as they pretend to repent.
It’s the damned vs the deplorables. How fitting.
Team Damned.
Luckily Hell isn’t real.

poorgradstudentParticipantFor now it sounds like the SD county restaurants are safe. It’s a pretty decent place to take my 4 year old; he can pick what he will actually eat from a lot of relatively healthy choices, and the price isn’t awful with a coupon. I do often end up filling up on bread and baked potatos, but some of the soups are really nice.
Protip for those complaining about the lack of meat: the bacon you can put on the loaded potatos can also go on salads, in soup, etc!
poorgradstudentParticipantAt this point I think he just landed a triple jump over three Sharks. There may have been a ring of fire as well.

Random city charter amendments:
No to all of these. They were all too petty to be placed on the ballot.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t they need to go to the voters for any amendment to the city charter? So although they may be “petty”, these are changes the council can’t make without the voters.
Admittedly City Attorney’s Office job security has never kept me up late at night. But it would be nice to avoid another Filner situation where there was no mechanism for removal.

All you have to do is listen to Spanish Language media. The opposition to Trump is strong. Don’t understand why the MSM says Nevada is in play.Any predictions, anyone? Being right makes you a winner. ;)
Whatever Nate Silver says.
I think with Nevada the remaining uncertainty is the fact Clinton hasn’t broken 50% in any polls. There are enough undecideds and Gary Johnson voters that if they broke hard for Trump at the end it could flip.
The media is portraying Pennsylvania as in play, but the polls there routinely show Clinton up by about 10. Unless the polls are very wrong, it’s going Clinton.
poorgradstudentParticipantI do wish the Republican Party of California was less terrible. I wasn’t very happy about the Governator, but overall he provided a decent balance to the One Party state legislature. The trouble is most of Arnold’s policy positions put him squarely in “Not a True Conservative” in terms of national politics. I guess we’ll have to see how the dust settles on the National election before knowing how the California Republicans will regroup and try to move forward.
Anyways, I’m going to hold my nose and vote Harris after a long conversation with a friend who lives in Sanchez’s district confirming a lot of my concerns about her. The more I read about Harris and SDG&E it sounds like she wasn’t willing to stand up to Governor Brown, who appears to be in the pocket of the energy companies.
poorgradstudentParticipantGetting back to the yard sign metric I’ve noticed a serious lack of bumper stickers in general for this point in the election cycle.
1) I see the occasional trump sticker up on a sign at a stoplight, but can’t remember the last car I saw one on
2) I’ve seen a few cars lately still rocking Obama/Biden stickers but who haven’t added Hillary.
3) I vaguely remember seeing more Marco Rubio bumper stickers than Trump.
4) I probably still see as many Bernie stickers as I do Hillary.Overall there’s clearly an enthusiasm gap on both sides, at least here in San Diego. I’m sure if I went to Hillcrest I’d see more Hillary stickers and if I ventured to Santee I’d see more Trump stickers. But in 2008 Obama swag was EVERYWHERE.

Unfortunately I went from 50% to 25% stock today, just in case things get crazy. I’ll re-enter after November if the conditions warrant it. I just hope the markets got this result right.
MY favorite line was when Trump said “Paying No Income Taxes ‘Makes Me Smart’”
Lol…So much for being for the working class…
Trump also apparently doesn’t really support the military and veterans, because taxes do pay for them, more so than they pay for poor people.
poorgradstudentParticipantThe App seems well tuned to areas like San Francisco with high demand and Seller’s Market conditions.
Sellers have incentive for buyers not to have access to the other offers. It provides them with an information advantage. There’s no incentive here.
poorgradstudentParticipantAll of them.
I like Belching Beaver a lot, and I’ve become a fan of Mike Hess. Ballast Point and Stone are both solid choices. Alesmith is good. Green Flash is a great one to go the growler route with, they are crazy expensive in store but quite affordable in bulk.
I’m not the biggest fan of Modern Times. Societe is just okay in my book too, the beers aren’t bad, but there’s nothing special about them and the actual facility screams “lumberjack hipster” to me.
I agree the growler fill policy is frustrating to find info on, as the majority really want you to buy their growlers.
poorgradstudentParticipantAnd here I thought this would be an article about how middling the iPhone 7 is and how Apple has gone down hill under Tim Cook.
