My particular pet peeve is with Jeff Bridges shilling for the Walmart car known as HIE-YUN-DIE and what is, in my opinion, a huge mistake on Bridge’s part.
Please join me in politely asking Jeff Bridges to bail out of the embarrassing Hyundai advertising campaign.
It is just WAY too un-Dude.
No hard feelings with those of you who disagree.

paddyohParticipant“Paddy, give it up… No one gives a crap anymore.”
If no one gives a crap why are you still responding to my posts?
I have not deviated from my message of asking Jeff Bridges to junk the supremely uncool Hyundai Walmart car ads.
You and Allen must have been the nerds in high school that everyone picked on.
paddyohParticipantHyundai is a Korean company founded in Korea in 1967. Hyundai has made major inroads in the American marketplace in the last few years. This is due in no small part to the enormous celebrity of American-born Oscar winner, Jeff Bridges, and his promotion of Hyundai the Walmart car.
We saw what happened when we let the Japanese take over the American auto market in the 1970’s – arguably by our own undoing. They just took advantage of our own stupidity and greed.
I personally have nothing against the Chinese, Japanese, Koreans or any other of our Asian competitors.
What I DO have a problem with is handing over so many of our blue collar jobs on an unfair playing field, especially when it is aided and abetted by otherwise decent Americans who seem clueless of the effect of their actions.
Of course, my particular pet peeve is with Jeff Bridges shilling for the Walmart car known as HIE-YUN-DIE and what is, in my opinion, a huge mistake on Bridge’s part.

paddyohParticipantAllan Allan Allan…..
Talk about tortured logic.
Only you can turn an observation about Super Bowl commercials into “British treatment of the Fuzzie-Wuzzies.”
I mean really. WTF ?
Why does every conversation involving you have to turn into such a travesty?
Chrysler is an American company founded IN America in 1925. We all know it’s been through many financial ups and downs over its history. Hopefully it’s making a comeback. Maybe the Clint
Eastwood will help.I applaud Eastwood for putting aside his own personal political beliefs and going out on limb to support an American-founded company and give a much needed pep talk to a country in distress.
paddyohParticipantIt’s half-time in America……
In case you missed the Super Bowl….
What more can I say.
Clint Eastwood + Chrysler = ClassJeff Bridges plus Hyundai equals Crass…..
It’s time for The Dude to let go of the HIE-YUN-DIE ads….
It’s beneath him.

January 9, 2012 at 7:34 PM in reply to: OT: If you can’t stand Jeff Bridges shilling for Hyundai, you won’t like Gary Busey Shilling for Kia :) #735605paddyohParticipantFord ?
As in Henry Ford – founder of Ford Motor Company ?
Pioneer of the assembly line and affordable cars to the masses in the early 1900’s – here – in the USA ?
An actual American-Born auto company with an American label ?
Too bad pressure from the Kia / Hyundai Walmart cars has forced the few remaining American companies to resort to some outsourcing to compete with the cheap, plastic 3rd world nerd-mobiles that are being dumped here at American taxpayer expense.
Just another major downside to the importation of slave made Walmart cars – which will always be UNcool no matter how you try and spin it.
But that doesn’t change the fact of the original Ford, Chrysler and General Motors American Heritage.
You can polish a turd (Hyundai) but in the end it’s still a turd. They pollute our economy.
Help stop the Jeff Bridges Hyundai advertising fiasco.

Hello 3rd World domination…
Goodbye Americana…..
Time for Jeff Bridges to disavow the Hyundai advertising humiliation…..

He and someone like Carrot Top, Lindsey Lohan, Howard Stern, Levi Johnston, Jon Gosselin, O.J. Simpson, any of the Kardashians, Octomom, Spencer Pratt, Casey Anthony and Anthony Weiner would be some other people that would be great spokespeople for Kia and Hyundai. The list goes on.
But NOT Jeff Bridges.
It’s apples and oranges Dude !
Jeff Bridges is too cool and respected to be shilling for the uber UNcool Walmart cars like Kia and Hyundai. He should be shilling for Chevrolet, Harley Davidson or Ford.
Please join me in imploring Jeff Bridges to put the brakes on the embarrassing Hyundai advertising before he loses all his coolness and credibility.
I can’t thank you enough FLU for helping me make my case !
;>]
paddyohParticipantHappy New Year……
Let’s hope 2012 is the year that Jeff
Bridges dumps the Hyundai advertising campaign.Although he has every right to shill for any company he pleases, let’s hope someone of his stature can become more sensitive to how his stardom helps tip the scales against an already ailing American Auto Industry.
It is a make or break period for all American industries and blue collar workers right now.
They can use all the help they can get.
It’s called philanthropy……
and it just might be making a come-back.;>]
paddyohParticipant
I’ve gone 94 days without a drink as part of my weightlifting regimen but if I were to start drinking it would be white Russians or maybe black Russians.

Allan from Fallbrook is on the vodka diet.
So far….he’s lost 3 days !

Sorry….couldn’t help it.

paddyohParticipantWalter….uh…um….I mean Allan.
There ya go making my case for me again bro. :.]
I don’t know much about labor unions except the empirical stuff I mentioned.
Otherwise, it’s really not my area of expertise.
I will bow to your superior knowledge of “FLSA”… “BLOWME” …. “OSHA”…. “Right to Jerk Off” or any of those other fixations you have going on.
I’m just here to try and spread the word about the opportunity you have to respectfully ask Jeff Bridges to disconnect himself from the Hyundai advertising campaign.
Apologies for the sarcasm but there seems to be no other way to respond seriously to your nonsensical and inaccurate bloviations.
But why, why, WHY….does EVERYTHING have to be such a travesty with you Allan ?
Keep drivin’ American soldier.
Peace.

paddyohParticipant
Were you guys aware of the fairly large cult surrounding the big lebowski. Apparently many convene, dress up, watch the movie endlessly and basically have a wholecrelugion/ philosophy built around it.
You can google for info.
I’m unaware of any other movie like that.
Tis true !
