New_RenterParticipantSD Realtor, I know for fact that when you buy a lot in Santaluz you have the option of paying off the Mello-Roos up-front. It varies by lot, but it was roughly $100K. This was versus paying around $8500/yr. on the Mellow-Roos bond for 30 years.
