eavesdropper, I can’t believe you think the media treats O’Donnell, Palin, or Bachmann with “kid gloves.” They are regularly mocked and ridiculed for saying stupid things. Ask anyone who has only a passing familiarity with politics, and thus is relying solely on political news as spoon fed them by the media, and they will tell you that Palin is stupid.
I did not notice MSM suggest Palin is stupid. SNL through Tina Fey did a great job at it, though. I don’t consider SNL as MSM, but comedy, so I expect them to poke fun at all candidates.

August 26, 2011 at 3:06 PM in reply to: Low Mortgage Interest Rates For Everyone!!!: U.S. May Back Refinance Plan for Mortgages #724961jpinpbParticipant
jp, people who are strategic defaulter will default no matter what. Lowering mortgage rates for them makes no difference. They have already defaulted.
But the plan was to lower rates to help the economy, discounting that the economy has been doing as well as it is, partially due to people having spendable income, i.e., mortgage-free for at least the past 2 years.
Maybe b/c sdr has his rich, elite friends who would never do such a thing, he thinks everyone else is in that boat. That’s not what I’m seeing. I named the one realtor, but I know many more out there. The one realtor just hasn’t received the NOD, but others have and still not foreclosed.
Maybe I just know the handful of people in all of California, in all of the U.S. that is living mortgage-free. I seriously doubt it.

August 26, 2011 at 1:08 PM in reply to: Low Mortgage Interest Rates For Everyone!!!: U.S. May Back Refinance Plan for Mortgages #724883jpinpbParticipantTG – trust me when I say it is so under reported and under the radar of how many people are NOT paying. The realtor friend I have mentioned before who lives in PB is still living in his house w/out paying one red cent and no NOD filed. Has to be going on 3 years now.
Maybe they have already drained the pool in Temecula/Riverside/San Bernardino county. I don’t know. But areas that I watch, there are still plenty of people riding the gravy train of free rent. In fact, my neighbor is an insurance agent and she gets questions from clients who want to know if a house has a NOD if they still have to pay insurance.
For those that are investors, why would you think they are empty? Most likely rented out and owner collecting rent(s) and not paying their mortgage(s). How many people during the bubble have bought multiple properties in their attempt to be real estate tycoons and gather rent from multiple properties, now just collecting rent and not paying the mortgage.
I think some people underestimate this b/c it’s not something that they would do themselves.

1. Many responsible people have already refinanced over the past couple of years. Many of them have near 4% rates, while others have ARMs that have rates even lower than that.
This is true. Heck, how many times has flu refinanced?
Thanks for that link, CAR.
And yes, flu is right. H. pylori bacteria is what causes ulcers. But what causes someone to get the H. pylori bacteria? Could stress weaken the immune system and the body is vulnerable to unfriendly bacteria?
