ParticipantPersonally, I’m very happy to hear they won’t give him a principal write down!
I’m still hoping with all my might that the banks don’t just start handing out free money (write downs), which are my tax dollars!!!
You can read at the below URL, banks aren’t doing write downs, which thrills me to death! It allows the free market system more ability to work correctly…

ParticipantPersonally, I wouldn’t deal with the brain damage of continued payments, possible HOA strong-arm tactics and lawsuits, competitive properties nearby, further value declines, etc…
I would just walk away, take the minor hit to my credit and start banking the cash for another home purchase in 5 years.

Participant
No need to worry.
REALTORS® are bound by a Code of Ethics, and must always act in the best interest of the client (you).
In the extremely unlikely case that a REALTOR® would violate this code, other REALTORS® would immediately act to sanction the offender and provide relief to the victim.
Seriously, if you have to ask, then the answer is yes.

Even better, talk to the listing agent directly. You can trust listing agents as much as you can trust a buyer’s agent.
Nicely done! Best laugh I’ve had in awhile… 🙂
