So at this point there is no formal process or system in place for these to be recorded, nor is it happening, which is VERY unfortunate…
Someone once mentioned that recipients of principal reductions will more than likely look to get their property taxes re-assessed after the loan mod. This might be a way to understand more of the history related to the property. So, if you can pull records at the Assessors office, that may help.
Through this thread I am hoping we Piggs can come up with as many possible ways to find out these “mods”, so we have full disclosure (or as close to) before entering a transaction.
Any other ideas?
BTW SDR, I like the term “shadow comp killers”.
