back to OP. we thought our neighborhood is stablizing, but the appraiser just told me the lenders are calculating value 10% down from last year. I also saw the inventories around us are priced lower.

EchooooParticipantwell, I am frustrated with SD housing. All areas we have looked, such as Carlsbad, good schools, less HOA and Mello roos, but farther from work. Stonebridge in Scripps ranch, bigger land, but HOA and Mello-roos topped 500-600/month and no infrastructure. I like Carmel velley, excellent schools, coastal, but look at the price and neighbors are within arm’s reach. Poway has more land, but older house and higher fire risk and of course warmer. Agents say “you can’t have all”, but why not? Maybe not in SD, but I am sure there is somewhere that one can afford to have all. SD is our first stop in U.S.. What about other States? Anywhere has a good education system (not have to worry about budget cut year after year), decent job opportunity for engineers, nice weather (maybe not as good as SD, but I don’t mind colder weather with more lush green). Most importantly, affordable housing. Of course, no wild fire, earthquake and tornado, hurricane stuff like that. Anywhere?

EchooooParticipantThanks, SK in CV. So you now moved to CV? Some says Inland is 10-15 degree hotter/colder. Any comments? What about price range? Any difference among these communities? Any info. will be appreciated. Or is there an agent familiar with the area to recommend? Thanks.
