desmondParticipantThe key to outdoor furniture is in the pads. If you buy sturdy metal chairs and put great pads on them I found that works best. If you can work with wood, then by some plans over the internet, get some nice Redwood and hardware and build it yourself. Make sure to get plans that are simple and at most call for straight cuts, a skill or table saw, drill, socket set, wrenches, etc. Take your time build a chair or bench one at a time. Stain and waterproof, buy nice pads and enjoy the outdoors.

desmondParticipant
Desmond, IMHO you may have misinterpreted the tone of this thread.
Speaking only for myself, I am not a home owner, and have live in 92107 for 10 years. I study the market because I plan to buy there, and have put low ball offers on three houses this year, missed out on all so far (barely, all went well below list).
I’m have no interest in trying to convince anyone to buy. I’m simple commenting on my observations. The market may go down further, it may not. It’s taken a while to drop at all, and some places may be good deals like the one above.
p.s. if you ever visited the forum on SDLookup for 92107 and 92106, some of JP’s comments about houses would make sellers want to cry…
I have no problem with good deals and anybody buying a home today, I just don’t like to read that if you don’t and are waiting to see what prices do you are somehow “missing out” or not “smart enough to buy now”. I am referring to the overall board not this topic, good luck.

desmondParticipantIt is becoming obvious that some homeowners on this board are trying to keep their home values up with keystrokes, or just trying to prove that they are so much smarter than the slobs believing home values still have declines ahead. I think they are still falling, I saw this on Mish today:
It’s far easier to make up for lost opportunities than to make up for catastrophic losses
